Announcing scalie.computer

I forked linkhut and turned it into my own little social bookmarking site for my friends!

I wanted something of my own-ish for me and my pals to share links on. I doubt it'll ever be super popular which is good, but it's more a resource sharing tool.

If you want an account, you'll have to joing the related Matrix space, and hang around. I'll make you an account if I think you're cool enough.

Why linkhut clone?

Linkhut is very nice tool for this, though I wanted to remove some bits I didn't use and also modify the looks a bit.

It's super simple, has no comments, just links. That's all I needed.

Why not use ln.ht?

Linkhut has public instance https://ln.ht/ which, yes, I could use. But I do not want a public instance, just small hangout for people I know(ish) and trust.

I also wanted zero "AI" content because I'm tired of seeing that everywhere, so that's an explicit rule on the site. Otherwise, just keep it computer adjacent and we'll be fine.

I don't know elixir lol

The codebase uses Elixir language, which I have never used. I managed to just somewhat investigate the codebase and modify it just enough for my needs.

Such as changing branding and links requiring tags, instead of them being optional.

I'd like to make the "save" function to be "like" instead, but that's really all I need.
